Parent Teacher Conferences this Week!!!

Since this is a student led conference please make sure our lovely classmate attends their conference and the goal sheet is brought.

This morning we read a book called Personal Space Camp by Julia Cook which talks about personal bubbles, hoops and space. We practiced our personal space and if they can prove to the class that they can show personal space then they will be a SPACE EXPERT!!!

What Has Been Going on in Our Classroom

Good Afternoon Readers,

This past week we have been SUPER busy with projects and community building!!!

In science we are working on the water cycle and making paper models of the water cycle using the vocabulary like precipitation, condensation, and evaporation. We are in the middle of them but the finished products will be so cool and will be hung from our ceiling. 

We also have been reading books by Julia Cook with focuses on waiting your turn, what to do to stand up to a bully and personal space. I asked the students to put themselves in the yes, no or not sure section for one activity and the true/false section for another. I said statements and we came up with these answers:

Finally, our wonderful sub talked about the difference between being bullied and being picked on…As a class they came up with these answers:

So as you can tell we have had a VERY busy week!!!

Our Weekends

Hello Readers,
Happy Monday!!! This weekend was a very nice weekend. Some of our students spent time at the beach, saw some pet birds or got a new tan bike. It was a good weekend for most of us. This weekend I helped a friend move, helped another with organizing his mechanic shop, saw Guardians of the Galaxy and went to a car show. It was a busy weekend but so much fun. Below is a car I saw in the friends shop that is his. It is a 1971 Ford Torino… So cool.

This morning we are being little scholars today. Sadly we have about 5 students out today, but we started writing our own creative fairy tales that we all got excited about. We have stories ranging from people stranded in a desert to boys destroying girls at the beach to talking squirrels…

Guest Read Alouder

Hello Readers,
Today we had a wonderful guest speaker come in today… Her name is Dr. Julie Kalnin. She was my University Supervisor in college (Meaning she was a mentor in my last year of teaching). She just came back from Guam on September 29th. It was wonderful to see her and to introduce her to all of us third graders…
